We Did It!

Boreland to Birmingham - Long distance Carriage Drive Wheels to Freedom!

Amanda and the team of disabled drivers completed their long distance carriage drive from the borders of Scotland down to Birmingham in 13 days with 13 ponies, 3 dogs and a support team including 2 artic wagons!  It was an amazing adventure and our thanks go out to all our sponsors and supporters - go to the Sports Driving Unlimited charity website for more info and photos of the epic trip  -  to date we have raised just over £17k

Boreland Carriage Driving Competition

The annual carriage driving competition at Boreland was held on July 23 and 24 in glorious sunshine.  Overall Champion was Carolyn Fraser in her first competitive outing with her new mare Megan - she was over the moon!  Winner of the Noivce class was disabled driver Charlotte Thompson; best Young Driver was Alicia Fraser and best Multiples was Louise Kaiholm.

Sad loss of legendary stunt pony - Mr Pie

“It is with enormous sadness that I have to tell you of the death of Mr Pie -  inspiration and founder of Chariots of Fire Display team. His legacy remains strong in that he gave so much to so many  One day turning his hoof to spectacular fire stunts then the next day being the gentlest of creatures with children with impairments and disabilities.

For twenty years we have shared adventures, meeting wonderful people, going to extraordinary places and achieving more than I could h.ave ever had dreamed! He changed my life for the better and I know that he gave happiness to hundreds of children who met him and enjoyed his unique character and temperament.

The Indoor Driving Competition season is about to start!  Three competitions will be held at Greenlands Equestrian Centre, Carlisle on February 4th & 25th and March 17th.  Click here to download an entry form.  The dressage test for all competitions this year is Test 2b 2011.  These events are qualifiers for the National Indoor Championships at Keysoe, Bedfordshire on Mar 30 - Apr 1st.  More info from Amanda or John on 01576 610248 or email amanda@chariots.org.uk
