Junior Chariots Carriage Driving Club Go to the News page for details of the upcoming indoor driving competitions.
The aims of the club are:
The idea of a junior club is the Amanda’s
brainchild, encouraged by parents of some of the Junior drivers at
Chariots of Fire. For a number of years Amanda has been giving local
children the opportunity to compete in carriage driving competitions,
by providing ponies, carriages, training and transport to events. Her
success and enthusiasm has inspired these young people, and they in
turn have become very competent drivers, successfully competing
alongside adult drivers! Junior Chariots is affiliated to the British
Horse Driving Trials Association and closely associated to the
Scottish Carriage Driving Association who have been invaluable
supporters in the run up to the formation of the Club. The Club holds
its own training sessions, competitions and hosts an annual British
Young Drivers National event at Escrick in Yorkshire at the end of
September. For event dates click here. The
well known country clothing firm, Puffa, have given the Junior Club some
bodywarmers, gloves and scarves to promote their products and for the juniors to
be able to wear at displays and other events.
We are extremely grateful for the support and interest that Puffa
have shown in the club.
Dumfries and Galloway Council has given Junior Chariots a grant to enable them to buy a trailer. The Club is very grateful to the Council for their support. |
