Who are we .............?

driving outA small, nationally recognised company based in a rural community in southern Scotland.  Chariots of Fire has been established for 12 years, bringing the formerly elite sport and pastime of Carriage Driving to mainstream people.

What do we do .............?putting to

We have developed a Training Centre for the community enabling individuals to take part in a lifestyle that would otherwise be unavailable and reach personal goals or competition success.

How we do it .............?

By creating an environment based on the values of encouragement, kindness, laughter and discipline where people can feel sufficiently at ease to take on challenges that might normally seem intimidating.  We have the equipment, ponies, facilities, expertise and personal support to offer those who wish to take up the available opportunities.

confidence building  picking up speed!

Results we achieve ............. with Youngsters

Chariots is the only centre in the UK bringing on children as young as 3 years into carriage driving, giving them the chance to compete up to national level.double reins for safety

We are also involved in developing the motor and social skills of children in care in our local area.  They have the chance to ride and drive with 1:1 support and, as their skills improve, to compete alongside other Junior Chariots members.  It is this structure and discipline that enables them to feel totally nurtured and produces the best that they have to give, often surprising themselves.

Our young achievers include children who:

are partially sighted
are psychologically traumatised
have poor motor skills
have learning difficulties
are physically disabled

Results we achieve ............. with Adults

the peak of achievementWe focus on both competitive and personal goals for adults.  Many people come to gain confidence after an accident or loss of nerve, to rebuild their faith in their own abilities and those of their horse.  Others are fresh to the sport and looking to learn a new skill.  Amanda uses her interpersonal and life coaching skills, acquired in the corporate workplace, to produce an atmosphere conducive to relaxed and constructive learning.  Her enthusiasm rubs off on all her pupils and the feel good factor achieves amazing results.

Our Objectives ............

To offer members of the community the opportunity to do something they have never dreamed of!  To boost personal confidence , give new skills, offer a chance to compete at various levels and be part of a growing and exciting team - the Chariots phenomenon!
